Blackwine
The staple of every Gorean channel. Equivalent to our coffee in that it is ground from beans and brewed roughly the same way. Blackwine beans, however, are grown only in the mountains of Thentis and as such are difficult to acquire. Hence, blackwine is a precious commodity in most places on Gor. It should be brewed in small pots, a cup or two at a time, not in huge cauldrons on the hearth. It may be served black (second slave) or with cream and/or sugar.
Juice
The juices of the many Gorean fruits, alone or blended into a smooth mixture. Served chilled, sometimes over ice shavings, sometimes added to sul-paga as a refreshing change.
Milk -- Bosk
Milk from the Bosk. Much like the milk from Earthen cows. Served chilled or warm. Especially good with freshly baked sa-tarna cookies.
Milk -- Verr
Milk from the Verr. Much like the milk from Earthen goats or sheep. Used primarily in cheese-making, but may be drunk.
Tea -- Bazi
More a style of serve than an actual beverage, the tea is served in a highly ritualized fashion. See the section on serves for more detail.
Tea
A beverage equivalent to its Earthen cousin. There are many varieties, ranging from light green to the richest black teas. It may be served hot, brewed on order in small pots, with sugars, creams, tospit slices or any combination of them. It is also served chilled, over ice, with a slice of tospit or a sprig of mint.
Water -- Spring
The waters of Gor run pure and cold, and our spring water is captured directly from the tiny spring that runs through the servery.
Water -- River
Go for the spring water... trust me. Two words: River Urts.

Alcoholic
To Top
Ale/Beer
Beverage brewed from native grains and hops imported from Earth. Heady, but markedly less inebriating than its more potent cousin, paga. Served room temperature or chilled, in a stein or a horn.
Ka-la-na
Wine made from the red fruit of the yellow ka-la-na tree. The wine is always red, sometimes very dry, sometimes a bit sweet. Like the red wines of earth, the amount of time it is allowed to age and in what medium will determine its body and richness. It is served room temperature or chilled in a goblet.
Mead
A very intoxicating ferment, deep golden in color, made from fermented honey and water, served in a horn or goblet, room-temp or chilled. Besides plain mead, there are four basic kinds of flavored mead:
  • cyser, with the addition of apples
  • pyment, with grapes or grape juice added
  • metheglyn, spiced meads
  • melomel, with other added fruit juices
  • Paga -- Sa
A highly intoxicating distilled beverage, golden in color, produced from Sa-Tarna grain. Its nearest Earthen equivalent is Whiskey/Bourbon, though it is purportedly much stronger. The staple beverage of the Gorean warrior, it may be 'enjoyed' warmed, room temperature, or chilled. NOTE, there is no such thing as "lumpy" or "rancid" paga.
    Paga -- Sul
A highly intoxicating distilled beverage, clear, produced from the sul. Its nearest Earthen equivalent is Vodka. It is served room temperature, deeply chilled or with added juices.
    Ta-Grape Wine
A light, generally dry, white wine, made from the large ta-grape. It is normally served chilled, but may be drunk room temperature or poured over ice.
