This page grew out of a project that brandy, Oryx con Lara's one-time kajira, did for Brinlarr. This work, however, is of a general nature, and may be used as a resource by slaves everwhere. We hope it will be of some assistance.

There comes a time when all females feel the one emotion that is considered to be the worst one a girl can have on Gor. Jealousy. A strong emotion that comes from deep inside. A passion if you will, that can consume you to your very soul. Is it wrong to feel this? Most Masters object to their slaves expresing their jealousy -- so how does one overcome it?

Personal experiences brings that little damned green eyed monster out more times then we like to admit. What can one do to overcome it? Many don't. Keep in mind, much jealousy comes from your ego, the feeling that you are (or should be) more important than others. Ego really does not have a place in a Gorean kajira, as a slave who doesn't even own herself, shouldn't feel more important than others.

What a girl can do is to sit back and think about why she is jealous or what she is jealous about.

Though this is easy to state, it's not easy in practice. After pushing away the ego, you have to examine deep inside yourself, what brought the feelings to the surface. To say that a slave can't feel jealousy is more then insane, it's ludicrous. The Scrolls say that slaves are no more then property, chattel, beasts or whatever the word of the day is; but this does not mean that they have no emotions. Emotions are part of the girl, it is her joy, sadness, elation and sorrow, and the ability to express those powerful feelings are what makes a kajira a kajira.

Here are some ideas on how a girl can learn to control her jealous feelings while at the same time not denying them.

One way is to sit back and rethink the situation. Try to figure out what you are jealous about and then why. It's too simple to say, "Well, of course, I'm jealous of that new girl Master has collared." Are you afraid that He'll forget about you? Do you now have no time alone with Him? Or does it simply grind at you when you see that new bitch slobbering all over the Master that you once had to yourself?

Another could be to make a list of how you react to your jealousy. These reactions can range from being bitchy or grumpy to causing yourelf to be beaten. Though this may not help change your feelings, it may give you some inkling to the emotions you are feeling.

A girl could, if owned, ask her Master or other, friendly Free People to help her figure out why these feelings have arose. Not all Masters are willing, or even able, to help a girl through her feelings of jealousy; but any Master who cares about His property may very likely take some steps to insure 'domestic tranquility'.

The girl should talk to other girls, asking them what tips or advice they can offer. Sometimes, just unloading yourself of the grief of being jealous can help.

Or she can beg to be sold or transfered to another Owner. It depends a lot on the girl herself. Just realize that for every action there is a reaction, and that jealosy is a deep feeling that stems from a insecurity of feeling less then what is expected from a kajira, but a feeling that is very human.

The Scrolls show many times that girls get jealous of other girls, so you shouldn't feel alone. Fictional slaves often are shown to have the same problems as real, living and breathing slaves have.

Jealousy in the Scrolls
SourceQuote
10:251Resentments, jealousies, petty feuds, enemities, are common among female slaves.
12:234The petty jealousies and resentments that build up among girls make them easier to control. The master, to whom they belong, though he will normally refrain from interfering in their squabbles, is, of course, if need be, the ultimate arbiter for all their disputes. He owns them.
6:230"Sandra is better," wheedled the girl. "Try Sandra and see."
"Perhaps," I said. I gave her head a rough shake and permitted her to remain kneeling at the arm of my chair. I saw other slave girls, serving at the tables, cast looks of hatred and jealousy on her. Like a satisfied cat, she knelt beside my chair.
7:197-198Our bodies, superbly trained, even those of Inge and Ute, now became unmistakably those of slave girls. We had had trained into our bodies mysteries of movements of which even we, for the most part, were no longer aware, subtle signals of appetite, of passion and of obedience to a masculine touch, movements which excited the fierce jealousy, the hatred, of free women, particularly ignorant free women, who feared, and perhaps rightly, that their men might leave them for the purchase or capture of such a prize.
11:47How I wished that he had held me and kissed me as he did her. How jealous I was. Then, suddenly, realizing the eyes of all upon me, I was frightened.
11:132"Yes, Mistress," said the girl. She trembled. The chain shook on her wrist. I was pleased. Too, if she feared me, perhaps I could, for a time, frighten her away from my master. She was a lovely female, Marla, and I had little doubt she would be incredibly delicious in the arms of a man. I suppose that I was jealous of her.
