You unroll a somewhat greasy parchment, and read the MEAT menu.

BOSK (similar to Earthen beef or buffalo) steaks or roasts, Served roasted, grilled, or vulo-fried.
KAILA TAIL (desert riding beast, a cross between a camel and a dog) steaks. Served grilled.
LARL (lion) chops, rack, jaws. Served grilled or roasted.
TABUK (antelope/elk) steaks. Served roasted or charred.
TARSK (pig/wild boar) chops, roasts, ham or sliced like bacon. Served roasted, baked, grilled, fried....kinda 'you name it, you got it'. Versatile little beast, isn't it?
TREE URT (possum/wild rat) Served baked and stuffed. A favorite of Oryx (makes Lorelle ill to think about it), always in plentiful supply «burp» Er. May cause gas.
TUMIT (ostrich) steaks, whole Served grilled, stuffed and roasted, or baked.
URT (city rat, ghetto chicken) EWWWWWWWWWW!
VERR (goat/sheep) steaks and haunches, a bit gamey. Served roasted or grilled.
VULO (chicken-like bird) Served baked or roasted whole, or southern-fried pieces with sa-tarna biscuits and iced Bazi tea.

Licking your chops in obvious victual ecstasy, you manage somehow to call over a kajira before you drown in your own juices

Feeling kind of off, you decide to decipher the
Fish and Seafood menu

MARSH SHARK A very large fish, akin to its Earthen cousin of the same name. Filets or steaks are served grilled, poached, baked, or fins are made into soup.
TAMBER GULF OYSTERS breaded and fried, raw or baked with a mixture of rich cream sauce, greens and tarsk bits on top (Oysters Larafeller).
PARSIT FISH A silvery fish with brown stripes, served broiled, grilled, baked, or fried.
SORP A mussel-like shellfish, served steamed, baked, or fried.
WINGFISH A tiny blue salt-water fish with four poisonous spines on its dorsal fin; its liver is considered a delicacy.
SALT THASSA FISH Similar to Earthen salt cod. Served baked or as a component of soup.

The Fruit Menu

LARMA A fruit with a crunchy skin and a soft, juicy pulp, extremely sweet. There is no Earthen equivalent. Served sliced or whole, stewed into a sauce, or in fruit salad. The larma, it should be noted, also serves a very different purpose. If a slavegirl offers a Master a whole larma, she is, in effect, begging him to use her.
CELANE MELON Like Earthen honeydew, except only exists in Marcus of Ar's mind. Served sliced or as tiny balls when part of an (IRC-only) fruit salad.
TOSPIT A sour fruit, a cross between a lemon and tangerine. Served sliced with honey, as garnish for other dishes, candied or in Fruit Salad. The tospit is frequently used as an airborne surprise in tLi to get the attention of a dozing slave. They are also used in games of chance, since all but one variety has an odd number of seeds and wagering with them is great sport amongst the Tuchuks.
TA-GRAPES Big, sweet and seedless. Eaten out of hand or made into Ta-wine. Often added to Fruit Salad.
RAM-BERRIES Small, succulent berries, rather like Earthen raspberries. Eaten out of hand or used as a topping for other things, or in the ubiquitous fruit salad.
KORT A rinded fruit, similar to Earth melon. Served sliced or (bet you can guess, can't you?) in FRUIT SALAD!
KA-LA-NA A fruit much like a pear, usually rendered and distilled into a wine, generally red, and either sweet or dry, depending on which book you happen to be reading at the time.
MERLOT GRAPES Seeded grapes, eaten out of hand, or made into wine. Or in Fruit Salad.

The Vegetables Menu

SUL Roughly a cross between a potato and an onion. Served boiled, sauteed, roasted, french fried, mashed.
SULLAGE a soup made prinicipally from suls, tur-pah, and kes, along with whatever else may be handy
RENCE A stalky plant, staple of the diet of the Marsh people. The inside of the stalk is a pasty substance, not unlike porridge and is eaten raw or fried into cakes.
REDFRUIT Earth tomato. There is no source for redfruit in the scrolls, it is an IRC Gor invention. Served sliced, baked, and turned into a variety of sauces.

The Baked Items Menu

SA-TARNA The staff of Gorean life. Much like Earthen wheat, it is grown in two crops a year (spring and fall) and ground into flour or meal. From it are made a variety of things:
SA-TARNA BREAD Baked fresh daily from sa-tarna flour, in rounded loaves with yeast, or as round, flat loaves similiar to Indian/Afghan flatbreads (pita/lavash).
SA-TARNA GRUEL A thick paste of boiled sa-tarna meal, like porridge. Served with cream and sugar and (if you behave!) dried merlot grapes.
SA-TARNA GRITS Served with vulo eggs and tarsk strips -- Lady Lorelle's specialty, y'all
SA-TARNA Baked Goods available include muffins, cakes, fruit cobblers, or griddle cakes for breakfast.
COOKIES Good with black wine, or as thrown weapons.
KAISSA PIE Another specialty of the Lovely Lady Lorelle (think about it, fellow Southerners)
PIZ`ZA Redfuit sauce with verr cheese served on flat Sa-Tarna Bread

The Dairy Menu

VERR CHEESE Sharp and a bit crumbly, like a cross between feta and cheddar.
BOSK MILK or BOSK CREAM from the Bosk. Also sometimes made into a sour, tart cheese, similiar to Earthen swiss.
VULO EGGS Similar to, but smaller than chicken eggs. Served poached, fried, boiled and sliced, or pickled with rence.

The Drinks Menu

Alcoholic Beverages

MEAD A drink made with fermented honey and water, and often spiced and such, served in a horn or goblet. Lara is the mead capital of Gor, and tLi is the place to get it!
SUL-PAGA A beverage fermented from the sul, similar to raw vodka. Clear and brisk, or slightly amber, highly intoxicating. Served room temperature, mixed with juice, on the rocks, or deeply chilled.
SA-PAGA Fermented from sa-tarna, parallel to Earthen whiskey. Slightly amber in color, not for the faint of heart. Served room temperature, warmed, or on the 'rocks'.
TURIAN RED PAGA An odd drink, blood-red, imported specially from Turia where they guard the secret of its fabrication closely 8)
KA-LA-NA A light, potent red wine, available as sweet or dry, made from the fruit of the Ka-la-na tree. Served room temperature, chilled, or mulled.
TA-WINE A light, semi-dry white wine, made from the Ta-grape. Served deeply chilled.
KAL-DA Cheap ka-la-na wine blended with the juices of citrus fruits, can also have fiery spices. Served chilled or hot.
PALM WINE“” A light but very intoxicating liquor, served (in tLi) in a fine ceramic flask with thimble cups.

One of [Schendi's] most delicious exports is palm wine.

GOREAN ALE Much like Earth ale, brewed from sa-tarna, hops
BEER (Northern)“” A beverage that is brewed from grain, yeast, and hops. As strong as paga. Served in a stein.

One bottle of Ka-la-na among ten men is nothing. Ka-la-na is not paga or the strong beer of the north.

BEER (Rence)“” A beverage that is fermented from the grain of the rence plant. Served in a gourd flagon.

At such times there is drinking of rence beer, steeped, boiled and fermented from the crushed seeds and the whitish pith of the plant.

I had carried about bowls of cut, fried fish, and wooden trays of roasted tarsk meat, and roasted gants, threaded on sticks, and rence cakes and porridges, and gourd flagons, many times replenished, of rence beer.

VMVF (Vita-Meata-Vega-Fat) Taken from a Lucille Ball routine, is a rare Earthan alchoholic beverage proported to contain all the food value of Vitamins, Meats, Vegetables, and Fats all in one lil drinkie «hic» As intoxicating as paga. Does not exist on Gor, so why are you reading this?

Non-Alchoholic Beverages

BLACK WINE A stimulating drink made from ground beans grown in the mountains of Thentis. It equates to Earthen coffee, but is more highly prized since the Thentians tend to be rather limiting in the amount they export. It is served hot or iced, optionally with bosk cream and sugar, or our specialty, with heavy cream, sugar and sa-paga (third slave). See the following link to take a look at this novel serve.
BAZI TEA Black tea, served with the traditional, three-cup ceremony or by the single steaming mugful, or, in tLi, served iced with larma garnish.
FRUIT JUICE Made up on the spot by your kajira or kajirus from fruit in season. Usually served chilled.
SPRING WATER Pure mineral water drawn from the natural spring bubbling up in the kitchen.
RIVER WATER Only for the strong-stomached and weak-minded, goes well with URT. «shivers»
PEP`SI (Available seasonally only) A special Earthen import served with Boskburger 'n Cheese
GREENROBE PEP`PER A maroon-colored beverage specially imported from Earth.
