Rules for Visiting Free Persons
Rules for Visiting Slaves
Rules for channel slaves
Rules governing the purchase of channel slaves

  1. tLi is (as much as possible) a true Gorean channel. No elves, vampires, or football-scores in channel. Obviously, if it's just family, conversation can be much lighter and looser than if we're entertaining guests. Beyond that, however, it is also 'home' to those who have made tLi their IRC channel of choice. We expect You to feel comfortable and happy here. If you're not, please tell Me why and I'll see what I can do.

  2. We believe that Gor is to be FUN

That's F. U. N., for those who don't read. FUN means NEVER taking ourselves too seriously, and not getting hung up on THE TRUE GOREAN WAY. Accuracy is encouraged: for instance, lumpy paga in a footed bowl poured from a bota served to an Ubar of Port Kar. None of these EVER existed in the scrolls. Our way is not the only way, but it's OUR way.

  3. Scening is allowed in channel, BUT... tLi is 'home' to many FW. It is expected that people will show some class in choosing their actions in front of someone who might find them offensive. Yes, it's Gor, but even in the scrolls Masters drug slaves off to alcoves to 'have their way with them.' Use your common sense, and keep a watchful eye out for the sensibilities of our guests. All that said it is to be expected that slaves will use 'heat' in serves, etc. As We said, it's Gor, if sex offends you, this is probably not your scene.

Expect to see a lot of affection shown in tLi. For some reason, most "Goreans" seem to think FPs should just smile sweetly at one another from across the room. (G-d knows how anyone has any children that way!) We actively encourage any and all displays of caring and love. Life's too short, folks!

  4. Staff is encouraged to temp op and recommend for perm ops anyone that fits in with the channel well. New permanent OPs need approval of the Owner. A new SOP needs an act of G-d, or the Laran Council, whichever comes first.

Current SOPs are Kyrerus con Kar, Slaver, miscreant, and SirCatLord, Kur, Gorean Biker, rope-bondage expert. If I'm not around, they speak with My voice.

  5. Besides being a fine channel, serving the best of Gorean (and other) foods and potables... tLi is a shelter

And, now We're being completely serious. Besides Gor being less fun lately, it's also tending to be dangerous. Girls are being stalked and put upon, FW too. Other channels might teach "Gor"; we give slaves, FW, everybody, a place in which they can relax that's comfortable and non-threatening. We do NOT, however, coddle subbie brats or HNG wannabes of either sex. These are to be politely but firmly escorted out.

  6. In Our long tenure on Gor, We have come across most of the trash that has fetched up here. I can identify many people that should be considered threats, either annoyances or real dangers. Talk to any op if you're unsure about someone. Most of those we consider pure poison are on perm-ban from the channel (eg Dagel, Vrai, and the racist julie).

  7. We welcome people of any persuasion to visit tLi. Many channels these days seem to have 'rules' that preclude the entrance of male submissives. Even though there are no consentual male slaves on Gor, we accept anyone's life style choices as valid for them. Any Free Person (or slave, for that matter) who makes comments regarding the appropriateness of anyone's lifestyle choices, veiled or otherwise (unless we're having a discussion of the topic) will be escorted to the door. NO exceptions!

  8. Any Staff member may collar a slave to tLi. You are responsible for what you bring into the Inn. Also, We are not in the business of velcro collars, so choose wisely.

As slaves that you collar to the {tLi} are your responsibility, if they don't work out you may transfer (not release) them. Slaves that you have not collared, only Oryx or the collaring Op may dispose of. ["Jake's Rule"]

  9. Your own chain is your own responsibility. They mess up, you're responsible. We'll watch each others's property, but slaves, including yours, are to reflect well on the channels, not be a pain in the butt. Slaves who wear the {tLi} are Master Oryx's own slaves; however, ANY Free may punish ANY slave at ANY time for ANY reason, or none. Please have logs of the misdead ready in case of dispute later.

Try to avoid assigning essays or other busy-work, these tend to be juvenile at the best.

  10. We do not approve of "release" of slaves -- a slave should be transferred, that is, sold, given away, or otherwise transferred steel-to-steel. That is part of the basic standards of behavior that We expect from Our Staff. We do not mean to say what you can do with your property, but We do have certain minimal standards of your behavior, and part of these standards are not adding to the already pandemic problem of perpetual barenecks.

  11. Channel slaves, personal slaves of ops, and special "friends of the Inn" get a "+v" in channel. When in doubt, check with the Owner. A "+" means that the slave need not beg to be allowed to remain, just enter and find a Free Person to kneel before or next to.

  12. When a visiting slave enters {tLi}, since they have already entered, they beg to remain. You are expected to understand this, and enforce it.

{tLi} has no slave furs or slave mats; girls who aren't serving are expected to be at the feet or side of a Free Person, and trying their best to please.

As stated above, there are no consentual male slaves on Gor. Male submissives are allowed to enter, beg to remain, and chat, but not serve.

  13. When our slaves (or any others, for that matter) are in channel and not 'with' a FP (e.g. lapped, at his/her feet or engaged in a serve) it is assumed that they are free for use. It is annoying, to say the least, to have to call on slaves multiple times before we get their attention. In many cases what we're told by the girl is that one of the staff has her engaged in a PM. Sometimes the contents of these PMs are alcove fodder.

If you wish to talk with a slave who is in channel, you will call her to your feet/lap or take her to alcove, at which time she will change her name to whatever-alc. At NO time should you PM a girl to talk unless you remove her from the active rotation. As a further note, serves to guests will always take precedence over our conversations with the channel slaves. You may always just release the girl with the words 'Go serve --insert name here-- and return to me, girl'

  14. Please review ALL the rules, including those for channel slaves, visiting slaves, and for the purchase of channel slaves. Ops are held to the same rules as others, and should certainly be aware of the parameters, so ignorance is no excuse. Please remember that the girls are pledged to not release ANY personal info, including location, phone number, email, pic, etc., without MY permission. Don't ask them to circumvent that rule. It makes THEM feel bad and YOU look bad when they tell us.

  15. No channel slave may perform any "assignment" for anyone (Ops OR visitors) without the express permission of the Owner. This includes daily emails, essays, finding references, etc. We repeat, this is to be fun, not work, and most of the time essays are just busy work. Any slave that is asked to perform such a task WILL bring it the attention of the Owner immediately or risk dismissal.
